A list of designated substances subject to phase two registration in Taiwan will be released on 31 December 2017, according to Environmental Resources International (ERI), which runs the Chemical Substance Registration Centre.
Speaking at the KCMA’s International Conference on Chemical Policy (ICCP) in Seoul, ERI’s deputy general manager, Ya-Hui Ni, said the EPA will review the information collected during phase one registration over the next year.
Similar to EU REACH pre-registration, the main purpose of phase one registration is to establish the manufacturers or importers of existing chemical substances in Taiwan. The information gathered from this phase will then be used to create the designated substances list, which will be the basis of choosing substances for the subsequent phase two, or “phase-in” registration.
