Sweden’s Chemical Update
On February 20, 2017, Sweden’s Chemical Agency added four substances to its chemical risk database, also known as PRIO.
The Swedish database, is a tool which allows both manufacturers and users to assess the environmental and health risks that may arise from a particular chemical substance.
The four chemical substances that were recently added are:
1. 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, bis(2-ethylhexyl) ester.2. 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, dibutyl ester
2. 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, dibutyl ester
3. Diisobutyl phthalate (DiBp)
4. 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, butyl phenylmethyl ester
DiBP was also added to the REACH candidate list of SVHCs, because of its serious effects on human health.
