The South Korean government has passed a biocides law and K-REACH, amendment on August 8, 2017. It is currently expecting that K-REACH, which is South Korea’s Registration and Evaluation of chemicals based on the EU’s Reach, will come into force on July 1, 2018, while the new biocides law will come on Jan 1, 2019. Both small and medium sized companies in South Korea will be required to only submit only the test data showing the levels of hazard for existing substances, where the hazard is still unknown.
