According to A J V Prasad, joint secretary, department of chemicals and petrochemicals, ministry of chemicals and fertilizers, the centre will be created to monitor international trade practices and identify opportunities for innovation and technology.
“The centre will conduct research and development for the industry apart from addressing issues of tariffs, monitoring import and export, maintaining a chemical inventory besides disseminating information about hazardous chemicals,” said Prasad, who was the chief guest at the one-day international chemical conclave by Gujarat Chemicals Association (GCA) in the city on Saturday.
