July 8 – Canada: June finished off with 2 CCCR Product Recalls

June 25: Mouthwash

The child resistant caps on some bottles do not work properly. Contains ethyl alcohol, and if the child resistant cap fails, the mouthwash can cause intoxication or illness in a small child if ingested.

June 30: Bingo Daubers

Health Canada has established that the bingo daubers do not meet the mandatory packaging and labelling requirements of the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 for toxic products. This lack of packaging and labelling information may lead to serious injury.

Health Canada has received one complaint where a child was found mouthing a sponge soaked with ink used to stamp bingo cards; no illness resulted from this incident.
