Brazil’s Chemical Regulation
Brazil’s Industrial Chemicals Regulation is set to move forward after the country’s National Chemical Safety Agency, Conasq, met at the beginning of July to review some of the comments made at last years meeting.
Some of the comments made about the regulation included:
– the use of an only representative legal entity;
– the need for a formalized annual notifying period; and
– the ban on animal testing
The new regulation will provide provisions when it comes to the registration, evaluation and control of chemicals, along with creating a national chemicals register.
The agency is planning on meeting again in September.
