National Regulations Governing SDSs

In Colombia, the authoring and management of SDS’s are governed by several national regulations aligned with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. Resolution 0773/2021: Issued on April 9, 2021, mandates the adoption of the 6th Revised Edition of the UN GHS for workplace chemical hazard classification, labeling, and SDS preparation. Decree 1630/2021: Published in November 2021, this decree establishes the National Inventory of Chemical Substances for Industrial Use.

GHS Implementation Status

As of Resolution 0773/2021 the deadline for compliance with Revision 6 of GHS requirements for substances and mixtures has passed as of April 7th 2024.
